On Menstrual Hygiene Day, we reaffirmed our commitment by highlighting our ongoing efforts to support women and girls worldwide through our Dignity Kits Program.

From Fabric Waste to Life-Changing Solutions

The Dignity Kits initiative transforms fabric leftovers from garment production into reusable sanitary products, minimizing waste while addressing an urgent human need. Each kit includes sustainable sanitary pads along with essential educational resources on reproductive health.

This innovation not only reduces textile waste but also provides women and girls with safe, affordable, and eco-friendly alternatives to disposable products.

Empowering Women and Girls Globally

The program began in Mombasa, Kenya, where local women produce the Dignity Kits as part of an income-generating opportunity. Alongside the products, girls and women receive reproductive health education, empowering them with knowledge to take control of their health and enabling young girls to stay in school during their menstrual cycles.

To date, Alex Apparels has delivered over 40,000 kits across communities, ensuring that women and girls no longer face the choice between education and menstrual health.

The Dignity Kits initiative has not only touched lives but also earned international recognition. The program was honored with the Changemakers Award at the WTiN Innovate Textile Awards, acknowledging our innovative approach to turning sustainability into tangible social impact.
